Born in Scotland ´s capital of Edinburgh in 1983, SIMON STOKES has always had a keen ear for quality sound.
Although many years were spent in front of a computer screen and a box of knobs, Stokes had never expected to get signed to a label - this was just a passion.
In 2008, however, he began to post videos on YouTube showing his live setup and what he could do with it. His productions were generally bass-riddled techno and the community quickly fell in love with his style. It was from these videos that labels began to get in touch with Stokes, requesting demos and tracks for upcoming releases.
Since then, he has released on some of the world ´s greatest, including Darkroom Dubs, Rekluse and Sleaze with support coming from DJs such as Luciano, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Umek, Christian Smith and Sébastien Léger. He has been booked to play alongside top artists such as Slam, Mike Huckaby, Oxia and Lucio Aquilina and has built up a great following from his intense, pounding live sets and epic, headlining DJ sets.
The music he produces is inspired by the seasons, and he can happily flit between producing deep, dark minimal techno in the long Scottish winter months, to upbeat Chicago-influenced, jazz-splattered house for the summer beach parties. Stokes ´ approach to music is all about personality, and it is this philosophy that sets him apart from the pack.
